Terms of Service

Last Updated: June 27, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the services provided by Bethapay ("we", "us", or "our"), including our payment collection terminals, QuickBooks Online sync integrations, and API endpoints, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not access or use our services.

2. Merchant Account Registration & Payout Routing

To set up payment terminals, you must register as a merchant and link a valid settlement account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate onboarding information (business names, openers, roles, IDs, and descriptions).
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials and Clerk authorization tokens.
  • Map payout routing instructions solely to authorized settlement accounts owned by your organization.

3. Fees and Billing

Bethapay charges transaction fees on a pay-as-you-grow basis. No subscription charges apply:

  • Standard Processing Rate: 1.95% of gross transaction value.
  • Platform Fee: ₵0.50p flat fee per transaction.
  • Fee Bearer Allocation: Merchants can configure terminals to absorb fees or pass them onto customer transactions.

4. Third-Party Services (Paystack, QuickBooks Online, & Google Calendar)

Our transaction settlement runs over secure Paystack infrastructure, and our accounting engine interacts directly with QuickBooks Online APIs. Additionally, we integrate with Google Calendar APIs:

  • You agree to comply with all terms set by Paystack for merchant accounts.
  • By enabling the QuickBooks sync, you authorize Bethapay to query customer records, create SalesReceipt documents, and post split ledger updates to your configured bank and fee ledgers in QuickBooks.
  • Google Calendar & Bookings: By connecting your Google Calendar, you authorize Bethapay to view calendar availability and automatically insert event invites with Google Meet URLs for successful checkouts. You are responsible for configuring accurate capacity bounds (such as maximum participant limits) for your events.

5. Custom Data Collection & Compliance

Bethapay allows you to configure terminals that collect custom customer metadata (such as Student IDs, welfare contribution targets, donor intents, or class levels). You are solely responsible for ensuring that all data collected complies with local and international privacy regulations.

6. Team Access & Collaborator Controls

Account administrators can add collaborators (such as viewers and accountants) to audit transactions and manage integration configurations. You are responsible for all activities performed by users authorized under your merchant team account.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bethapay shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or sync validation failures with external ERP platforms.
